Fresh Book Reviews Series That Broke

The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous Most children will empathize with Ivy’s feelings about winter and her longing for spring.Originally from Tauranga, Lydia is now based in Melbourne, where she speaks to Kathryn. Photo: Matty Smith, Harrington Studios. 10:35 Book review.QiiBO calls Midnight Mass "Flanagan's best work," noting that the writer/director "seems to have used all of his previous projects as practice for this thrill machine, a series that broke my heart into a thousand pieces and left me thinking about his last moments long after it ended. Flanagan's work with Netflix - along with his popular Doctor Sleep adaptation - has made him one of the biggest names in modern horror, and set the bar for his next project impossibly high.

Overall, we were satisfied enough with the product and service to stick with them through the years. There were always idiosyncrasies to work through. Until it ceased to be Freshbooks! We have used Freshbooks as our internal bookkeeping system since 2013.

Unnecessary transitions and UI animations littered everywhere on the site slowing down what could otherwise be an improved, snappier experience. Design is reminiscent of 90s frame-style interface design / 1st gen flash sites (not in a good way). Stable, concise nav menu along top of UI, accessible throughout the site has been replaced with a column of “cutesy” stock icons and labels running on the LHS of the pages, Disgustingly inefficient use of screen real estate. Now, we (and our clients) are forced to be visually assaulted with Freshbooks' hideous rebranding and design aesthetic.Interface is a DISASTER.

One can only compare the experience to being suddenly forced to maintain productivity while having your modern workstation swapped out with a 20-year old computer running DOS.Drop down menus take FOREVER to load - 10-15 seconds in some cases. Aside from the site taking ages to load (as long as 12 seconds on a 1Gb/s fibe connection), record entry has gone from a relatively snappy process to a cumbersome, clunky LETHARGIC pain. Design department brilliantly redesigned the site's jellybean from an immediately identifiable iconic green leaf, to a blue/white F that looks nearly IDENTICAL to Facebook's logo, rendering it far less visible and increasing the time it takes to scan and quickly access a Freshbooks session in tabs.Performance on the site is the absolute WORST aspect of the transition. Coincidentally, Using tabs? Get your glasses. Referencing old docs for pricing and other information is impossible while working unless you load several instances of the page in separate tabs preemptively.

The fact that FB refuses to allow users to choose the old platform after so many have voiced dissatisfaction - brute-forcing the transition on businesses that built the organization into what it is, is not just irresponsible - it's a full-on bait and switch!Unfortunately, the stupidly onerous (updated) terms absolves Freshbooks of any responsibility or accountability to users and their businesses as a result of platform issues and inefficiencies (something that has surely reared it's head many times from many organizations through this transition). To potential new users considering Freshbooks - FIND ANOTHER PLATFORM. Absolutely NOTHING has been improved with this move from our perspective. Essentially, in our experience, nearly EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of the UX in Freshbooks has been compromised. The job of entering expenses has gone from about a minute per receipt to 5 MINUTES in some cases.I could go on and on.

I empathize with the experience you shared and this has been viewed by members of our Development Team at FreshBooks. You have taken the time to speak to our Specialists to voice your concerns regarding the templates, design, speed and features. THIS IS NOT THE SAME PRODUCT!!I appreciate that you took the time to share your experiences about the new FreshBooks.Being on a new platform may present itself with certain challenges, which you have addressed. A problem we’re now faced with as we will absolutely be ditching FB in the coming months.FreshBooks' relatively high rating is equity earned from their previous platform.

We would like to continue working with you to better your experience. I agree, we do receive feedback that are related to some of the points you have shared and we are looking into it.It is sad to see that you are leaving us in the coming months. We have now created a platform that allows more flexibility in updates, creating features and handling bugs.We are striving to increase the customer experience and it can take time as we carefully craft these updates to meet and exceed expectations. In FreshBooks Classic, updates were limited and in some cases not possible. Although they are reviewed, it does not mean that you will see changes in the new platform.FreshBooks carefully addresses concerns to develop updates frequently. Our Developers review, discuss and prioritize feedback that is shared with FreshBooks.
